ICNA CSJ Presents: Justice, Rights & Reform

Join the ICNA Council for Social Justice (ICNA CSJ) for Justice, Rights & Reform, a community forum focused on wrongful convictions, knowing your rights, and criminal justice reform.
Hear from Imam Khalid Griggs, Dr. Jamel Coy Hudson, and Brother Ali as we discuss how the justice system affects individuals, families, and communities—and how we can work toward meaningful reform.
Speaker Bios:
Imam Khalid Griggs is the founding imam of the Community Mosque of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A longtime leader in Muslim social justice work, he previously served as ICNA’s vice president for social justice and as associate chaplain for Muslim Life at Wake Forest University. He is the national chairman of the Muslim Alliance for Black Lives, a division of ICNA CSJ.
Dr. Jamel Coy Hudson is a doctoral lecturer of rhetoric and public advocacy at Baruch College, where his work explores the Black rhetorical tradition, faith, and social justice. He has also taught at Hofstra University. As resident imam of As Siraatal Mustaqeem Islamic Center in Wyandanch, New York, he brings scholarship and community leadership together in service of spiritual growth and unity.
Brother Ali (Dwayne Brooks) spent nearly 35 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of a 1987 murder in Cleveland. He was freed in 2023 after previously withheld police reports and witness statements came to light. He brings firsthand insight into the human cost of wrongful convictions and the need for accountability and reform.
Come learn, reflect, and join the conversation.
