SUMMARY:Muslim South Asia: al-Hind\, Hindustan\, and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:Muslim South Asia: al-Hind\, Hindustan\, and Beyond\nICNA Nassau | Fall 2026 Course \n📅 Sundays\, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM\n📍 ICNA Nassau Community Center\n🗓️ 10 Weeks | Starts September 27\, 2026\n💵 $200 \nAbout This Course\nThis course explores the history of Muslim South Asia from the 700s to the creation of modern nations like India\, Pakistan\, and Bangladesh. Instead of looking at history as just a story of wars and conquests\, we will explore how Muslim identity\, culture\, and power truly developed over more than a thousand years. \nStudents will learn how traders\, Sufi mystics\, scholars\, and rulers helped shape daily life\, poetry\, and local traditions. We will also examine how British colonial rule changed the region\, how religious and political leaders responded to losing power\, and how events like the 1947 Partition split the subcontinent. \nBy the end of the course\, you will understand how this rich history is remembered — and sometimes misunderstood — today. \nCourse concludes with a field trip and/or student project presentation. \n\n[ Register Now — $200 ] \nSeats are limited
